useful questions and answers
Here are our most frequently asked questions about ordering, shipping, and other good stuff.  Always feel free to email or phone us with any questions.
Can I mix and match individual candies?

We would be delighted to allow you to specify individual chocolates, but only for bulk orders of an individual candy or identical samplers. Please call us for details.

Do your prices include taxes?

All prices on this web site include state and local tax. If we ship your gift outside of NC, we will deduct the tax from the price shown.

How far in advance do I need to place my order?

We'll do our best to fulfill "last second" orders. In general, small orders placed early in the day can be ready later that same day for pickup or shipping. However, we encourage you to order as far in advance as possible to avoid the disappointment of our running out of your choice.

When can I buy your chocolates?

We're open for candy purchases all year long.

Can I buy your candy at a retail location?

No. They're only available from us; this keeps your cost down and ensures that our products are fresh.

Can I use my credit card?

Yes.  We accept MasterCard, VISA, Discover, and JPL.  Please note that the prices on this site reflect a 4% discount offered for payment by cash or check.  The discount also applies to credit card purchases below $100.  For purchases above $100, we regret that the fees for credit card processing prohibit our offering that discount.

Will you personally deliver my order?

If time allows, we will be delighted to present your gift personally (in our dress whites of course); the charge for delivery includes $5 for the each half hour and $0.50 per mile.  Deliveries within 2 miles of our kitchens are free.

Do you ship chocolates?

We do. Unfortunately, hot weather has a tendency to melt our product so we generally ship only when the maximum temperature here and at the destination is less than 72 degrees - with a little luck that's usually between October 15 and April 30. If necessary, we can ship overnight with cold packs during the warmer weather.  We generally ship USPS Priority Mail unless you prefer otherwise.  Our last date for shipping for Christmas, 2012 is on December 17; after that date we will be glad to provide you with shipping materials at no charge.

Where do you ship chocolates?

Except under unusual circumstances, we ship only to the 50 U.S. states.

Is there a minimum order for shipping?

Since there are only 2 of us here producing, packaging, and mailing, we have a minimum candy purchase ($25) for any order that is to be shipped during our busy seasons (November, December, and early February). We charge a modest packing fee and actual shipping costs.

What about food allergies?

A wide variety of nuts populate our kitchen (no wise remarks, please). If you have food allergies, we will be happy to provide you with details to help you determine if our candies are safe for you.

Is your kitchen kosher?

Most of our products are certified kosher dairy or pareve, but the kitchen itself is not. Our tools never come in contact with meat, fish, or poultry.
